Norman Kelly

Name: Norman Kelly
Age: 66
Residence: Burton on Trent, Nottinghamshire, England
Place of Birth: Birmingham, England
Home Club: Whittington Heath Golf Club, West Midlands, England

Norman Kelly only took up golf at the ripe old age of 50, and did so partially to stay close to his friends from his footballing and squash-playing days. Norman was born with a congenital condition that left him without his lower left arm, but that has not stopped him from leading an incredibly active life - he drew his inspiration from Douglas Bader, the celebrated British World War II fighter pilot who lost both legs in a crash but carried on flying missions. Playing right hand forehand, Norman should have known that golf would play a part in his life - he went to a school called St Andrews. His proudest golfing achievements include a gross 77 at the St Mellion Golf Club in Cornwall, one of the toughest tracks in England, and beating his Fightmaster Cup team mate Brian Crombie in the 1997 world championships. Outside of his golfing exploits, Norman spends as much time as he can with his grandchildren. Golf Handicap: 17
