The Fightmaster Cup will be a particularly proud moment for current president of the Society of One Armed Golfers and European team captain Malcolm Guy. A keen sportsman all of his life, despite being born with no right hand, Malcolm started playing golf at the age of 25 but did not join the Society of One Armed golfers until 1991. Since then he has been a leading light in the Society and can rightly claim to be a driving force behind the inaugural Fightmaster Cup. Malcolm plays his golf left hand forehand, and also claims to be like fine wine - improving with age. He once shot an 88 at his club to win a medal competition and, prior to the Fightmaster Cup, cites his first ace at the 153-yard 15th at Brechin Golf Club as his fondest golfing memory. A full-time consultant in the oil and gas industry, Malcolm believes his parent"s attitude to his disability - 'they never made any allowances for it' - is the reason for his success. Remarkably, he was also a keen cricketer and rugby player in his youth. A collector of old Scottish banknotes, Malcolm should be at the very least worth seeking out at the 19th!
