Hugh is well named - he was born with one arm, so his parents chose to name him after Franklin Roosevelt, who overcame his own physical adversity to achieve great success. A retired manufacturing and development manager in the defense business, Hugh is a qualified mechanical engineer, something that may come in handy when trying to read the greens at the Cardinal Club. Playing golf left hand backhand, Hugh is also a former champion table tennis player and DIY enthusiast. Hugh cites his greatest golfing achievement as winning his club handicap competition and representing his club in a national contest - although presumably that has now been eclipsed by his selection for the first Fightmaster Cup.
